Spelling Bee

The County Spelling Contest will be held on February 14th, in the Middle School Gym of the Stanton High School. The community is invited.

Qualifying students need to arrive between 8:00-8:30 A.M. to register.The spelling bee will begin with 50 written words for the students in each of the four grades. (5th, 6th, 7th, 8th)

As soon as the written portion of the contest is over, there will be a short break to prepare for the oral spelling session. During this break, students will be allowed to use the rest rooms, have a snack and a drink.

        Students are to bring pencils with erasers.  Paper will be provided.  No books or notebooks are to be brought to the tables.

        After the written portion of the test the oral portion will begin.  The fifth and sixth grades compete against each other for first and second place.  The seventh and eighth grade oral test is next and they will also compete for first and second place.

        The contest will finish by noon and the students can return to class.
