Kindergarten Roundup will be held at the Stanton Elementary located at 506 Fir, on Thursday, April 19 from 2:00 - 3:00pm. All children in the Stanton School District who will turn five by October 15, 2007 are welcome to attend. Families with children entering kindergarten for the 2007 - 2008 school year are encouraged to call the elementary at 439-2639. Kindergarten Roundup provides parents and children an opportunity to meet the kindergarten teachers and tour the kindergarten classrooms. While the children enjoy the kindergarten experience in the classrooms, the kindergarten teachers, speech technician, school nurse, building administration, and office personnel will meet with parents to share about the kindergarten program, provide general school information, provide a tour of the school, and answer any questions that parents may have. Kindergarten health requirements for 2007 - 2008 include the following, child's original birth certificate that has been acquired through the State Health Department, updated immunization records, pre-kindergarten physical and eye exam (both given within 6 months before the onset of school). These are state requirements and the school must have them before kindergartners can enter in the fall. Any completed requirements can be brought to the school during roundup. ** Due to Kindergarten Roundup the Kindergarten classrooms will be dismissed at 1:20pm (kindergarten only). The 1st - 4th Grades will dismiss at the regular 3:23pm dismissal.
