Administration: High School Principal

Welcome to a New School Year

by Chris Stogdill

September 20, 2009

Greetings to You and Welcome to a New School Year

 at

Stanton Community Schools.

This fall, I will start my ninth year in Stanton.  Prior to becoming principal, I was the physical education teacher and head football/wrestling coach in Osmond, NE.

I have a Master’s in Education Administration from Doane College, and an Education Specialist’s Degree from Wayne State College.  In May of 2010, I will complete work on my doctoral degree.  I invite you to visit my web page located in the K-12 Staff Section of this web site.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt stated, “No country, however rich, can afford the waste of human resources.” What is the relevance of this statement? This statement was made famous on the “fireside chats” broadcast on the radio during the Depression. Americans looked to the president for hope and encouragement during this difficult time. This thought is still on target today. Our young people are indeed our most valuable resource. Youth make up approximately 24% of our population, but they are 100% of our future. We can not neglect their needs.

As I reflect on my years at Stanton, I see the evidence of this commitment
to meeting the needs of future generations. Stanton is a community dedicated to providing a total educational experience that allows students to reach their potential, with a faculty that goes “above and beyond” to facilitate student success.
Success is living each moment as fully as possible. Success means being true to yourself in every way. Don’t be afraid to take on the challenges of the world. You can make a difference. Dare to dream. Success comes when you decide to live the possibilities of your dreams. Let us join together in supporting our children in all future endeavors so that we may present a bright and glowing future to them all.

I am committed to assisting students at SHS achieve the best education possible and to become life long learners. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me at (402) 439-2534 or my e-mail at cstogdil@esu8.org.
