Elementary Student Council

Student Council Members for the 2007-2008 school year include the following students: Sally Brechbill, Trenton Cadwallader, Logan McKeon, Jason Petersen, Abigail Colsden, Mitchael Sieh, Abigail Stogdill, and Sara Vollbrecht.
Selections for this council position were limited to (2) students from each of the Third and Fourth Grade classrooms. Criteria for this selection included: A student written and oral interview and the student must exhibit responsible behaviors in school.
The Student Council meets the first Tuesday of each month after school. Elementary Student Council sponsors include Mrs. McKeon, Miss Bowsman, and Mr. Stoddard. What a busy year they have had!! Some of the events in which they sponsored or have been a part of include: Community Food Drive, Pennies for Patients, Stanton Mustang Water Bottle Sales, Recycling, and skit performances at our monthly Elementary P.R.I.D.E. Assemblies.
The Student Council also sponsors a “Wacky Wednesday” held each month that involves learning with a wacky twist. Events that made up for a Wacky Elementary include:
1) Read & Feed (Buddy Reading with a snack)
2) All School BINGO
3) Memory Munching Mania (Memory Game and eating an M snack)
4) Malarkey Monday (Geography game shared with a buddy and “ green” day)
The Student Council works hard each month and the leadership skills and the role models that they represent show for it in our school.
