August - October Progress Report:             Welcome to Mr. Seeman's Web Page!

- In the early part of the previous year we focused on the design of the new car. We carefully researched what kind of body design we wanted for the first few months. Once this was completed we began to make a model of the car. We had taken a piece of paper and took the measurements from what we wanted and laid them out. We carefully placed the parts that were needed for the car to function. We did this because once all the parts are on the car we have to make sure it is properly balanced. If the car was not properly balanced it would not move correctly. This first process took us to a different type of car, this one we will be much lighter than peruse cars. But during all of the planning we were also beginning to make the structure of the car itself. Earlier in the year Mr. Seeman took some of us more experienced welders to learn how to brase. Brasing is a much easier way to weld because it does not weigh near as much as a regular weld. This is also a breaking year with the ladies joining the Team. We will also have some different things happening with the new car.

January Report

This year, our 2011 Power Drive team consists of 13 new members and 10 retuning members. The month of January our Power Drive team has been working very hard; but due to the 4 snow days, we are not as far as we would hope to be. Some of us are learning the ropes of  Power Drive  while others are using their experience of pervious years.

Well we have come a long ways on both cars. On the Stanton County Sheriffs car we have done a lot of sanding on the outside. We are using 10 grid sand paper to sand both cars. On the inside we have been mainly working on the electrical work. The Breast Cancer Awareness car has one wheel on it so far.  We have decided to change the way we test our batteries. Our goal for this month is to get the other two wheels on the Breast Cancer Awareness car. We also hope to have almost all the mechanical work done on both cars by the end of this month so we can start painting the outside in the month of February.

This month we have also started getting organized for our documentation. We are trying to come up with  more creative ideas than last year.
