JV Volleyball Goes 1-1 in Home Triangular
The Mustang junior varsity volleyball team was much improved on Monday night. Coming off a depressing loss to Lyons-Decatur, the Mustangs turned things around on, playing better as a team and with more effort. The Mustangs fought hard all three sets, but fell to Scribner-Snyder 25-27, 25-12, 13-15 in the first game. In the second game, the Mustangs redeemed themselves with a good team victory. The Mustangs defeated the West Point-Beemer Cadets in two straight sets, 25-23, 25-14. Attacking the ball consistently was Allison Flood, who led the Mustangs with 6 kills on the night. Missy Leaver followed with 4 kills on the night, and Kennedy Cheyney and Shannon Pestel each contributed three kills. Dasi Sieh finished the night with 5 set assists. The Mustangs served aggressively all night. Dasi Sieh ended the night with 7 ace serves, Missy Leaver followed close behind with 5 aces, and Aubrey Warneke added 2. Defensively, the Mustangs were led by Allison Flood with 16 digs, Kennedy Cheyney and Missy Leaver with 15 digs, and Dasi Sieh with 14 digs. The Mustangs look to get two more wins on Monday, October 19 as they host Pierce and Randolph
