JV Volleyball Losses Both in Home Triangular
The Mustang junior varsity volleyball squad hosted its last home triangular of the season on Monday night. Playing through many ups and downs, the Mustangs did drop both games. In the first game of the night, the Mustangs were defeated by Randolph in a tough 3-set battle, 19-25, 25-17, 13-15. The Mustangs were led by Dasi Sieh with 6 set assists, while Kyley Reese added 2. Missy Leaver led the offensive attack with 4 kills followed close behind by Kylie Reese with 3 kills. Allison Flood and Dasi Sieh also added 2 kills apiece. Sydney Schellpeper contributed 3 ace serves on the night and Kyley Reese added 2. Defensively, the Mustangs were led by Kennedy Cheyney with 10 digs and Sydney Schellpeper and Allison Flood each added 5 digs.
In the third game of the night, the Mustangs took on the Pierce Bluejays. Coming out flat, the Mustangs were defeated in a quick first set, but redeemed themselves in the second set. Though losing in the final set, the Mustangs never gave up and were able to steal a set victory away from a very good Bluejay squad. Scores of the game were 9-25, 25-15, 9-15. Dasi Sieh and Kylie Reese each contributed 6 set assists. Having another aggressive attacking night, Missy Leaver led all hitters with 6 kills, followed by Kylie Reese with 3 kills. Allison Flood and Dasi Sieh also added 2 kills on the night. On the defensive side of the net, Missy Leaver had 6 digs, Kennedy Cheyney had 5 digs, and Sydney Schellpeper and Allison Flood added 4 digs each.
JV Volleyball Falls to the Howells Bobcats
The Mustang junior varsity volleyball team hosted the Howells Bobcats on Thursday night in their last game of the season. Having a rough start, the Mustangs were never able to quite get over the hump as they were defeated by the Bobcats in two sets, 12-25, 13-25. Playing a very aggressive, scrappy Bobcat team, the Mustangs had trouble defending the Bobcat attack. Dasi Sieh had 2 set assists on the night followed by Kyley Reese with one set assist. The three kills of the night came from Sydney Schellpeper, Dasi Sieh, and Missy Leaver who had one apiece. Defensively, the Mustangs were led by Allison Flood with 8 digs. Off the bench, T.C. West came in to contribute 5 digs and Dasi Sieh and Kennedy Cheyney added 4 digs.
