Mustang Boys Trample the Tigers
by Josh Herscheid
On Tuesday the mustangs traveled to North Bend to play the
tigers. The mustangs came out slow to start the game and
found themselves down by a single point at half time. In that
first half Stanton ran into some foul problems, the tigers were in
the bonus in the first quarter. The tigers did a good job of
hitting their free throws, which led to their one point lead. "We
have to keep battling on the boards if we want to win this", quoted
Mark Tomka at the half. In the second half the mustangs cut
down on the fouling and cranked up the defense. North Bend
was only able to score 14 points in the 3rd and 4th quarters.
While the mustangs put up 28 points, which turned to be the
difference in the game. Stanton out rebounded their opponent by 2
and only committed 13 turnovers. The mustangs will be
back in action this weekend when they host Wakefield and travel to
Pender on Saturday.
