Wakefield
Friday night the mustangs were home to face Wakefield. It was a pretty close game throughout. Wakefield made a few more plays than the mustangs and was able to take home a 55-49 win. The mustangs had there chances in the second half, there were some shots that just wouldn’t fall and Wakefield was able to make just enough shots to hold on down the stretch. The Mustangs were led by Mark Tomka with 16 points and 4 rebounds. Other mustangs that helped out are Josh Herscheid with 11 points and 4 rebounds and Blake Heppner came off the bench and played well with 9 points and 5 rebounds.

Pender
On the last game before Christmas break, the mustangs traveled to Pender to take on the Pendragons. Stanton came out in a full court press looking to up the tempo and force the pendragons into some turnovers. The mustangs only had a 3 point lead at the half but came out in the third quarter and scored 26 points to blow the game wide open, which resulted in an 18 point lead going into the fourth quarter. The mustangs were able to play 10 different players in the game and it also seen all ten players scoring in the game. Stanton was very balanced in all the statistics in this game. They out-rebounded Pender as well as only committing 12 turnovers which is a goal the mustangs have in every game to be at 12 or less turnovers. Some individual stats from the game, Josh Herscheid had 13 points & 2 steals, Mark Tomka had 12 points & 6 rebounds, Michael Eberly had 10 points, 5 rebounds, & 3 steals, Spencer Nikolite had 8 points & 7 assists, and Steven Petersen had 6 points & 1 assist.
