Mustang Volleyball Team Champions – Boone Central Tourney
Launch the media gallery 1 playerOn Saturday, Sept. 8th, the Mustangs traveled to Albion for the Boone Central Tournament. The first game of the day for the Mustangs was with Tekamah-Herman. The Mustangs won 25-7 and 25-7. The Mustangs played very well, adjusting as the match was played and continued to improve on their communication.
The Mustangs then advanced to the semi-finals and played Crofton. The Mustangs won in two sets, scoring 25-16 & 25-18. Putting the Mustangs in the Championship bracket.
The Mustangs then headed into the final game of the tournament against the Columbus Lakeview. The Mustangs won in three sets: 25-19, 22-25 and 25-19. It was a very competitive game to end on for the day. Lakeview did a great job getting us out of system and played good defense. While the Mustangs learned to continue to be an aggressive serving team and our players adjusted to their blocking. The Mustangs ended the day receiving 1st place.
The Mustangs will play at home on Thursday, September 13th a Tri-Angular with Boone Central and Norfolk Catholic starting at 5:30pm. Then on Saturday, September 15th Stanton will host an 8 team tournament starting at 9:00 a.m.
