Mustangs 29-1 – after Sub-districts and Districts
The Mustang’s traveled to Wisner on Monday, October 29th to play the first round of Sub-districts held at Wisner-Pilger High School. The Mustang played Norfolk Catholic for the first match. During sub-districts, districts and state all matches are the best of 3 out of 5 sets. The Mustangs played 3 sets against Norfolk Catholic and won which advances the Mustang to round two held the following night. Sets: 25-15, 25-23 and 25-21. Team stats: 10 ace serves, 38 kills with 34 set assists, 2 total blocks with 71 digs.
The following night was against Clarkson-Leigh. The winner of this match advances to the District game that will be played on Saturday, November 3rd at Lexington High School. The Mustangs played 3 sets in this match and ended up with a win: 25-17, 25-18 and 26-24. Team stats: 9 ace serves, 37 kills with 33 set assists, 8 total blocks and 68 digs.
The Mustang’s traveled on Saturday, November 3rd to Lexington High School to play Bridgeport for the District match. The Mustang’s played Bridgeport 3 sets and won: 25-15, 25-11 and 25-17. Team stats: 7 serve aces, 47 kills with 45 set assists, 2 total blocks and 86 digs.
The Mustang’s will make the trip to Lincoln to play in the 2018 State Volleyball Tournament – November 8, 9 and 10. The Mustangs are the 2nd seed and will play the number 7th seed Battle Creek at 3:30pm – Lincoln Southwest on Thursday, November 8th.
