Mustangs Volleyball Season comes to a close

Mustangs  2018 State  - 3rd Place  – 31-2  

 

The Mustang’s traveled down to the 2019 State Volleyball Tournament on Thursday, November 8th to play the first round at State held at Lincoln Southwest High School.  The Mustang played the Battle Creek.  All State matches are the best of 3 out of 5 sets.  The Mustangs played 3 sets against Battle Creek and won which advances the Mustang to round two held the following day.  Sets:  25-22, 25-23 and 25-17.  Team stats:  5 ace serves, 50 kills with 49 set assists, 4 total blocks and 66 digs.

            The following day was against Blue Hill.  The winner of this match advances to the Championship Match that will be played the following day at DeVaney.  The Mustangs played 5 sets in this match and ended up with a loss that put them in the consolation game on Saturday:  25-18, 24-26, 17-25, 25-17 and 14-16.  Team stats:  6 ace serves, 69 kills with 65 set assists, 8 total blocks and 144 digs.

            The Mustang’s then played in the State Consolation Match the following day at the Lincoln Northeast High School.  The Mustang’s played Superior 3 sets and ended up as Class C2 – 3rd Place:  25-12, 25-18 and 25-17.  Team stats:  9 ace serves, 46 kills with 40 set assists, 4 total blocks and 72 digs.
